 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to extend
 1-4     heartfelt congratulations to Norman Douglas Brown on the grand
 1-5     occasion of his 60th birthday; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, This being the 60th anniversary of his birth, Doug
 1-7     can look back on many significant changes in the world around him;
 1-8     men landed on the moon, computers have become commonplace, and
 1-9     cellular telephones are now the norm; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Doug was born March 27, 1941, at Saint Vincent's
1-11     Hospital in New York City, the son of Carol Joyce Brown and
1-12     Norman Douglas Brown, Sr.; he moved to Austin in 1958 to attend
1-13     The University of Texas at Austin; and
1-14           WHEREAS, After exchanging wedding vows with
1-15     Judith Schas Brown on December 20, 1968, the devoted couple
1-16     formed an ideal relationship built on love, devotion, and mutual
1-17     respect; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Doug takes great pride in his wonderful children,
1-19     Rosemary Louise and Timothy Douglas, both of whom have brought him
1-20     much enjoyment; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, This auspicious turning point in the life of
 2-2     Doug Brown truly deserves legislative recognition; now, therefore,
 2-3     be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     77th Legislature, hereby congratulate Norman Douglas Brown on his
 2-6     60th birthday and extend best wishes for the future; and, be it
 2-7     further
 2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
 2-9     as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
