 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 617
 1-3           WHEREAS, Recognizing the accomplishments of our young
 1-4     citizens is one of the pleasurable tasks of public officials,
 1-5     and it is indeed an honor for the Senate of the State of Texas
 1-6     to congratulate the Celina High School football team; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Capturing their third consecutive 2A championship
 1-8     and their fourth in six years, the Division II Class 2A Bobcats
 1-9     have consistently proven their competitiveness under pressure;
1-10     and
1-11           WHEREAS, With an impressive record of 41 wins dating back to
1-12     1998, the Celina Bobcats are currently ranked number one in Class
1-13     2A for having the longest winning streak and are ranked third in
1-14     the state irrespective of class groupings; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Demonstrating a total team effort with aggressive
1-16     offensive ball handling and outstanding defensive maneuvering the
1-17     Bobcats have displayed exceptional skill and determination to
1-18     win; and
1-19           WHEREAS, The Bobcats have brought honor to their school,
1-20     their community, and their team; now, therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-2     77th Legislature, hereby commend the Celina High School Bobcats
 2-3     on winning the 2000 Class 2A state championship title; and, be
 2-4     it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-6     the team as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
