1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 648 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Cora Bell Price 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the 1-7 citizens of Houston in mourning the loss of esteemed citizen 1-8 Cora Bell Price, who died at the age of 81; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The loving wife and mother will be forever 1-10 gratefully remembered for her generosity of spirit, her 1-11 compassion, and her devotion to family and friends; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Cora Bell Washington was born in Houston 1-13 on October 13, 1919, to the late Effie Lucille Washington 1-14 and Silus Washington; she married her beloved, the late 1-15 Robert Price, Sr., and to this blessed union was born a son, 1-16 Robert Price, Jr.; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A devout Christian lady, Mrs. Price lived her faith 1-18 in her daily life and filled all the allotted time given to her 1-19 with great kindness and loyal service; and 2-1 WHEREAS, This respected and admired woman will be deeply 2-2 missed by all who knew and loved her, and her unique presence 2-3 will live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives she 2-4 touched; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-7 bereaved family of Cora Bell Price: her son, Robert Price, Jr.; 2-8 and her sisters, Beatrice Harper and Gladys Singleton; and, be 2-9 it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-11 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, 2-12 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory 2-13 of Cora Bell Price. 2-14 Ellis 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the above 2-18 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-19 on April 3, 2001, by a rising vote. 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
