1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 654 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride 1-4 in congratulating the D'Hanis Independent School District for 1-5 receiving an Exemplary rating from the state; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The D'Hanis Independent School District was the 1-7 only K through 12th grade independent school district in Region 20 1-8 to receive an Exemplary Award; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The standards for earning an Exemplary rating 1-10 are based on scores on the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills, 1-11 the dropout rate, and attendance; this school district had 1-12 exceptionally high TAAS scores, a low dropout rate, and high 1-13 attendance; and 1-14 WHEREAS, This honor demonstrates the talent, dedication, and 1-15 hard work of the students and members of the faculty at this small 1-16 1A school, as well as the strong support the school receives from 1-17 the D'Hanis community; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The award also reflects the superior leadership 1-19 of this school's principal and the united efforts of the 1-20 administrators, teachers, and students to meet the challenges 1-21 required for academic excellence; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 77th Legislature, hereby commend the D'Hanis Independent School 2-2 District for meeting the criteria established for an Exemplary 2-3 Award from the state and for bringing honor to the school district 2-4 and to the community; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-6 the D'Hanis Independent School District as an expression of 2-7 esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-8 Madla 2-9 Wentworth 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on April 4, 2001. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
