 1-3           WHEREAS, The thoughts and congratulations of her family and
 1-4     many friends are with Jacqueline Orr on the auspicious occasion of
 1-5     her 60th birthday; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Born Lottie Jacqueline King on April 6, 1941, she is
 1-7     the daughter of G. L. "Jack" King and Mary Elizabeth Freeman King;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. King owned and operated a cafe in
1-10     South Dallas County; King's Cafe was the gathering place for
1-11     politicians, business leaders, law enforcement officers, and
1-12     notable people from the area; and
1-13           WHEREAS, On September 4, 1959, Jacqueline married former
1-14     State Representative Fred Orr and the happy couple provided a
1-15     nurturing home for their three children, Angelia, Gregg, and
1-16     Brooke; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Orr are the loving grandparents of five
1-17     grandchildren, Lauren, Hunter, Madison, Sutton, and Tanner; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Once her children were in college, Jacqueline
1-19     embarked on a career in real estate development, construction,
1-20     and manufacturing, and today she is managing partner of the
1-21     business; and
1-22           WHEREAS, An accomplished artist, especially with pencil,
1-23     Jacqueline relaxes by drawing or painting; she is also an avid
 2-1     crossword puzzle fan whose favorite puzzle is in the New York
 2-2     Times; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, The life of any gathering or party, Jacqueline is
 2-4     renowned for her penetrating wit; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, A woman who has a great feeling of sympathy for all
 2-6     children, Jacqueline has served on the board for Dallas's Council
 2-7     for Abandoned and Neglected Children; and
 2-8           WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, she is quite proud
 2-9     of the accomplishments of the members of her family; a genuine
2-10     Texan, Jacqueline Orr is a woman of courage, dignity, and caring,
2-11     and she has given abundantly of her energies to her family and her
2-12     community; now, therefore, be it
2-13           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-14     77th Legislature, hereby extend birthday greetings to this
2-15     outstanding lady; and, be it further
2-16           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-17     her as an expression of highest regard and esteem from the
2-18     Texas Senate.
