 1-5                            James Warren Harwell
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-7     citizens of Jacinto City in mourning the passing of highly
 1-8     respected and admired civic leader James Warren "Joe" Harwell,
 1-9     who died at the age of 78; and
1-10           WHEREAS, The many achievements of this distinguished former
1-11     Jacinto City councilman contributed immeasurably to the growth
1-12     and progress of his esteemed community; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Having served the city council with distinction
1-14     for 18 years, this distinguished gentleman also gave generously
1-15     of his time and energy to the Jacinto City Police Department as
1-16     a reserve officer and as a volunteer with the city's fire
1-17     department; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Always putting the needs of his family and his
1-19     community first, Joe Harwell worked diligently to ensure their
1-20     safety and security; the efforts he put forth to provide his
1-21     fellow residents with a safe place to live, work, and raise a
 2-1     family were admirable; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, A conscientious and caring public servant,
 2-3     Joe Harwell leaves behind memories that will be forever
 2-4     cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts and
 2-5     minds of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-8     bereaved family of James Warren Harwell; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-10     his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-11     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
2-12     do so in memory of James Warren Harwell.
