 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 744
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride
 1-4     in recognizing Pat Adauto of El Paso for her innumerable
 1-5     contributions to her community, the City of El Paso, and the
 1-6     State of Texas; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, A graduate of Riverside High School and
 1-8     The University of Texas at El Paso, Mrs. Adauto is the first
 1-9     woman to fill the position of Director of Planning, Research,
1-10     and Development for the City of El Paso; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Pat Adauto has been married for eight years to
1-12     Richard Adauto, interim vice president for institutional
1-13     advancement for The University of Texas at El Paso; they are
1-14     raising Pat's two sons from her former marriage, Frank Garcia,
1-15     who is 16, and Danny Garcia, who is 13; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Both Pat and Richard have what people call
1-17     high-profile jobs, but when they are at home with their family,
1-18     neither of them discusses work or job titles; and
1-19           WHEREAS, With long workdays and business trips separating
1-20     the two, they prize time they have away from their jobs; the boys
1-21     and their activities keep the couple busy, and they are both active
1-22     in the Franklin High School Band Booster Club; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Pat oversees a budget of $1.4 million a year and
 2-2     directs 36 employees; she has responsibility for the mapping of
 2-3     land development and zoning and deals with issues of growth and
 2-4     expansion; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, An admirable role model for her community,
 2-6     Pat Adauto has worked for the city since 1975; she is a lifelong
 2-7     El Pasoan, and she understands what the city needs in terms of new
 2-8     developments and new neighborhoods; El Paso is fortunate to have
 2-9     her working for its citizens; now, therefore, be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-11     77th Legislature, hereby congratulate Pat Adauto on her many
2-12     achievements and wish her well in the future; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
2-14     as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate.
