 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 790
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-4     Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts in bidding farewell
 1-5     to Karen J. Fowler, who will be retiring after 31 years of
 1-6     dedicated service as a state employee; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Karen began her service with the State Comptroller's
 1-8     Office on August 11, 1969, and she will retire on May 1, 2001; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In her current position in the Tax Allocation
1-10     Section of the Revenue Accounting Division, Karen has distinguished
1-11     herself as flexible, intelligent, and efficient; in her many
1-12     years of experience, Karen was often presented difficult and
1-13     complex assignments, and she was always willing to rise to
1-14     any challenge; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Her duties at the agency required Karen to
1-16     coordinate the direct deposit of allocation payments; she also
1-17     worked to ensure that cities' boundaries were updated in a timely
1-18     and accurate manner for local tax purposes; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Now that she is retired, Karen can spend more time
1-20     with her husband, Buddy, at their ranch; she will surely have
1-21     a rich and productive retired life; and
1-22           WHEREAS, A true professional and a cherished friend to many
 2-1     at the State Comptroller's Office, Karen has rendered exceptional
 2-2     service to her state; for her many years of dedication to the
 2-3     careful administration of state finances, she is truly worthy
 2-4     of commendation; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-6     77th Legislature, hereby congratulate Karen J. Fowler on
 2-7     her upcoming retirement from the Office of the Comptroller of
 2-8     Public Accounts and wish her the best of luck in her retired
 2-9     life; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-11     her as an expression of deepest gratitude for a job well done
2-12     from the Texas Senate.
