1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 821 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in 1-4 recognizing Chuck Doyle and his family on their outstanding work on 1-5 behalf of the Texas City Boys and Girls Club; and 1-6 WHEREAS, As the former mayor of Texas City, Chuck Doyle 1-7 distinguished himself in public duty by coordinating the activities 1-8 of city departments and fostering numerous neighborhood and citywide 1-9 projects on behalf of area residents; and 1-10 WHEREAS, One of his most notable contributions to the 1-11 Texas City community was the role he played in bringing to town the 1-12 Boys and Girls Club; when Chuck Doyle made it possible for the club 1-13 to lease a city fire station on 25th Street North, the club found a 1-14 permanent home in Texas City; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Since the Texas City Boys and Girls Club opened 1-16 five years ago, the children of Texas City have enjoyed the 1-17 security of having a safe place to reside between the hours of 1-18 three and seven while many of their parents are working; in 1-19 addition, there are more than 500 young people now participating 1-20 in the club's productive activities and enjoyable programs; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Chuck Doyle and his family have continued to support 1-22 the club in a number of ways; Pat Doyle has served on the club's 2-1 board and is involved in the Teen Court program as a justice of 2-2 the peace; Matt Doyle and the rest of his family have supported 2-3 the club with regular contributions given individually and through 2-4 Texas First Bank; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Exceptionally dedicated to the young people of 2-6 their community, the Doyle family members continue to volunteer 2-7 their time and energy to help strengthen the club, and their 2-8 exemplary work and generosity have assured the club of a positive 2-9 and prosperous future; now, therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-11 77th Legislature, hereby express sincere appreciation to Chuck Doyle 2-12 and his family for their invaluable contributions to the Texas City 2-13 Boys and Girls Club; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-15 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-16 Jackson 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 President of the Senate 2-19 I hereby certify that the above 2-20 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-21 on April 25, 2001. 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Secretary of the Senate 2-24 ______________________________________ 2-25 Member, Texas Senate
