 1-4                                     of
 1-5                              Dr. Dale Jackson
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of Lewisville in mourning the death of a beloved pediatrician,
 1-8     Dr. Dale Jackson, who died at age 68; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, A native of Bowie, Dr. Jackson studied medicine
1-10     at Baylor University and The University of Texas at Galveston;
1-11     he interned and did his residency in pediatrics at Hillcrest
1-12     Medical Center in Tulsa; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Dr. Jackson served his country faithfully as a
1-14     member of the United States Air Force; he also served as clinical
1-15     director of Denton State School for two years; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Dr. Jackson began his practice in the early 1970s,
1-17     and he was, at the time, the town's only pediatrician; over the
1-18     years, he built a successful practice, and his medical expertise
1-19     was depended upon by thousands of Lewisville parents; and
1-20           WHEREAS, In addition to his work as a physician, Dr. Jackson
1-21     supported his community as school board president, and after his
1-22     tenure was complete, he continued to volunteer his time to the
 2-1     organization; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, A spiritual person, Dr. Jackson was a member of the
 2-3     First Baptist Church of Lewisville, where he served as a deacon;
 2-4     and
 2-5           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity,
 2-6     Dale Jackson was devoted to his profession, his family, and
 2-7     his community; he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
 2-8     forever by members of the Lewisville community; now, therefore,
 2-9     be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-11     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
2-12     family of Dr. Dale Jackson:  his wife, LaNelle; his sons,
2-13     Michael Dale Jackson and Jeffery Glenn Jackson; and his four
2-14     grandchildren; and, be it further
2-15           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-16     the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
2-17     from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
2-18     day, it do so in memory of Dr. Dale Jackson.
