1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 845 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas proudly commends 1-4 Julian O. Read for his many years of exceptional leadership as 1-5 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Read-Poland Associates; 1-6 and 1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. Read has almost a half century of nationwide 1-8 experience in communications counseling and services, and he is 1-9 widely regarded for his expertise in creative conception, crisis 1-10 communications, political strategy, and issues management; and 1-11 WHEREAS, In his long and distinguished career, Mr. Read has 1-12 worked as a newspaperman and a broadcaster, and he has been a key 1-13 consultant to numerous major Texas projects, including HemisFair 1-14 and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; and 1-15 WHEREAS, National and state leaders have solicited 1-16 Mr. Read's counsel; he was public relations advisor and 1-17 confidant to Texas Governor John B. Connally and worked with 1-18 President Lyndon B. Johnson; and 1-19 WHEREAS, The longevity of Mr. Read's career attests to his 1-20 integrity, professionalism, and expertise; for outstanding work 2-1 in the field of communications and for the work he has done to 2-2 benefit Texas, he is truly worthy of legislative recognition; 2-3 now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 77th Legislature, hereby honor Julian O.
