 1-5                           Elza Lewis Higbie, Jr.
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-7     citizens of Conroe in mourning the death of a beloved citizen,
 1-8     Elza Lewis Higbie, Jr., who died April 17, 2001; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Born October 18, 1931, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Lewis
1-10     was the son of Elza Lewis Higbie, Sr., and Lorene Higbie; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Active in the Credit Union Executive Society and an
1-12     avid golfer, Lewis was the husband of Sue Higbie and the father of
1-13     Richard and Robert Higbie; and
1-14           WHEREAS, A man of integrity and strength, Lewis gave
1-15     unselfishly of his time to many worthy causes, and his wisdom and
1-16     valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and community, Lewis leaves
1-18     behind memories that will be treasured forever by those who knew
 2-1     him; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-3     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
 2-4     of Elza Lewis Higbie, Jr.:  his wife, Sue; his sons, Richard and
 2-5     Robert Higbie; his brother, William Mark Higbie; and his
 2-6     granddaughter, Kimberlea Higbie; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
 2-8     for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
 2-9     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
2-10     it do so in memory of Elza Lewis Higbie, Jr.
