 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 894
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-4     employees at the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission
 1-5     in bidding farewell to their colleague, Claude W. Vaughn, who is
 1-6     retiring after 30 years and six months of loyal and outstanding
 1-7     service to the people of this state; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Born to Claude L. and Helen M. Vaughn on
 1-9     July 5, 1951, in Taylor, Texas, Claude lived in many cities as
1-10     a boy as a result of his father's career with the United States
1-11     Air Force; he settled permanently in Austin in 1965; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Prior to serving the Texas Natural Resource
1-13     Conservation Commission, Claude worked for the Texas Water
1-14     Development Board, the Texas Department of Water Resources,
1-15     and the Texas Water Commission; and
1-16           WHEREAS, As an employee of the information resources and
1-17     computer centers, Claude has consistently exhibited dedication
1-18     to his work and solid, professional judgement; his co-workers
1-19     respect him for his knowledge, expertise, experience, and
1-20     attention to detail; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, A man of many passions and hobbies, Claude will
 2-2     spend his retired life traveling, attending Confederate Air Force
 2-3     shows, collecting World War II memorabilia, and enjoying the
 2-4     company of his wife, Jean Ferriola Vaughn, his children, and his
 2-5     grandchildren; after 30 years and six months of service to his
 2-6     state, this exceptional gentleman greatly deserves a rich and
 2-7     productive retired life; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-9     77th Legislature, hereby express its sincere gratitude to
2-10     Claude W. Vaughn for his years of service as an employee of the
2-11     State of Texas and wish him best of luck on his retirement; and, 
2-12     be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
2-14     as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
