1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 963 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Mary Arnsworth 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the 1-7 citizens of Houston in mourning the passing of a beloved citizen, 1-8 Mary Arnsworth, who died April 21, 2001, at the age of 86; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Devoting her life to her family and friends, this 1-10 loving and gracious individual will be fondly remembered for her 1-11 generosity of spirit and her deep sense of purpose; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Born August 8, 1914, in Dobbin, Texas, 1-13 Mary Roberson was the daughter of Johnny and Emma Jane Roberson; 1-14 she accepted Christ into her life at an early age and believed 1-15 strongly in practicing her faith in her daily life; and 1-16 WHEREAS, After marrying the late Otis Arnsworth on 1-17 September 26, 1939, the devoted couple enjoyed many years of 1-18 happiness raising the six children with which they were blessed; 1-19 and 1-20 WHEREAS, Having given so generously of herself throughout 1-21 her allotted time on earth, this remarkable woman leaves a legacy 2-1 of dedication and commitment that will live on in the memories of 2-2 all those whose lives she touched; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-5 family of Mary Arnsworth: her children, Barbara Walton, 2-6 Ruth Arnsworth, Ada Thomas, Anita Arnsworth-Williams, and 2-7 Joseph Arnsworth; her stepsons, Edward Arnsworth, Sr., and 2-8 Earl Arnsworth; and her 26 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 2-9 and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-11 the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy 2-12 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this 2-13 day, it do so in memory of Mary Arnsworth. 2-14 Ellis 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the above 2-18 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-19 on May 8, 2001, by a rising vote. 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
