1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1061 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas proudly honors the 1-4 Reverend Charles Faultry for the outstanding spiritual leadership 1-5 he has provided citizens of Texas; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, the Reverend Faultry is the 1-7 son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Herbert; he graduated from Texas Southern 1-8 University in 1979 with a bachelor of science degree in civil 1-9 engineering; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Reverend Faultry accepted his calling to the 1-11 ministry and preached his first sermon at Saint Mark Baptist 1-12 Church under the leadership of Dr. W. L. Weather; and 1-13 WHEREAS, After moving to Dallas, Reverend Faultry joined in 1-14 fellowship with the Greater North Park Church of God in Christ, 1-15 where he served as President of the Youth Department, Assistant 1-16 Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and 1-17 Assistant Pastor; and 1-18 WHEREAS, In April, 1995, Reverend Faultry began serving as 1-19 Pastor of the Greater North Park Church of God in Christ, and 1-20 since that time, he has worked to make it the dynamic institution 1-21 of worship it is today; and 1-22 WHEREAS, A man respected and supported by his church family, 1-23 Reverend Faultry has also been blessed with the abiding love of 2-1 his wife, Pennelope, and his two sons, Charles and Jeremiah; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Reverend Faultry is currently employed in the 2-3 position of Chief of RCRA Information Management Section, Region 2-4 6, Office of the Environmental Protection Agency, and he also 2-5 serves as President of the Texas Northeast Jurisdiction State 2-6 Evangelist Department; and 2-7 WHEREAS, On May 19, 2001, a dinner is being held in honor of 2-8 Reverend Faultry to celebrate his distinguished pastoral service 2-9 and his commitment to his community; and 2-10 WHEREAS, Texas faces many challenges in the new millennium, 2-11 and the state is fortunate to count the Reverend Charles Faultry 2-12 among its spiritual leaders; a man who will work for life-affirming 2-13 responses to challenges, he is truly worthy of the esteem of his 2-14 congregation and of the great Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it 2-15 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-16 77th Legislature, hereby join citizens of Dallas in declaring 2-17 Saturday, May 29, 2001, as Reverend Charles Day in honor of the 2-18 exceptional work this gentleman has done on behalf of countless 2-19 Texans; and, be it further 2-20 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-21 Reverend Charles Faultry as an expression of high regard from the 2-22 Texas Senate. 2-23 West 2-24 ______________________________________ 2-25 President of the Senate 2-26 I hereby certify that the above 2-27 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-28 on May 16, 2001. 3-1 ______________________________________ 3-2 Secretary of the Senate 3-3 ______________________________________ 3-4 Member, Texas Senate
