 1-2                         SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1101
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
 1-4     recognize Sergeant Pedro Antonio Ocegueda for his 24 years of
 1-5     dedicated service as a member of the El Paso Police Department;
 1-6     and
 1-7           WHEREAS, The native of El Paso began his exceptional
 1-8     career in law enforcement as a patrolman after graduating from
 1-9     the El Paso Police Academy in 1977; he became a detective in
1-10     1983 and his promotions through the ranks to his latest position
1-11     as sergeant of Crimes Against Persons Section are clear evidence
1-12     of his dedication and ability; and
1-13           WHEREAS, His extensive educational background includes
1-14     certification as a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer
1-15     Standards and Education instructor and hypnotist; he also
1-16     received specialized training in interview and interrogation,
1-17     community leadership, bloodstain pattern interpretation, homicide
1-18     investigation, and scientific content analysis; and
1-19           WHEREAS, A man of courage and conviction, Sergeant Ocegueda
1-20     has displayed expertise and superior judgement in dealing with
1-21     the unique challenges of law enforcement duty, and he has made the
1-22     City of El Paso a safer place in which to work, live, and raise a
 2-1     family; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Sergeant Ocegueda has earned the respect and
 2-3     admiration not only of the El Paso Police Department but also
 2-4     of the entire El Paso community, and he will be deeply missed by
 2-5     all who knew and admired this exemplary police officer; now,
 2-6     therefore, be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-8     77th Legislature, hereby express its gratitude to
 2-9     Sergeant Pedro Ocegueda for his exemplary work with the
2-10     El Paso Police Department and extend best wishes for the
2-11     future; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
2-13     for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
