1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1105 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-4 congratulate Loretta H. Kibler on the occasion of her retirement 1-5 as Superintendent of the Commerce Independent School District; 1-6 and 1-7 WHEREAS, Loretta Kibler graduated from Commerce 1-8 High School before earning her bachelor of science degree 1-9 in elementary education and her master of education degree 1-10 from Texas A&M--Commerce; and 1-11 WHEREAS, After almost 20 years of classroom experience, 1-12 Loretta Kibler became a middle school principal in 1984; 1-13 in three years, she ascended to the position of Assistant 1-14 Superintendent, and she became Superintendent of Commerce 1-15 Independent School District in 1994; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Throughout her years of teaching, Loretta Kibler 1-17 has consistently demonstrated a willingness to broaden her skills 1-18 as a teacher and an administrator; she has mastered numerous 1-19 professional development classes, and her efforts have enabled 1-20 her to better serve the students of the Commerce Independent 1-21 School District; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Respected for her knowledge and expertise, 1-23 Loretta Kibler holds membership in such professional 2-1 organizations as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum 2-2 Development, the Texas Association of School Administrators, 2-3 and the Texas Association of School Boards; and 2-4 WHEREAS, In addition to her work as an educator, 2-5 Loretta Kibler has supported her community in a variety of 2-6 ways; she is currently the Commerce Area Alumni Director of 2-7 Texas A&M University and on the board of the Commerce Chamber 2-8 of Commerce, where she has served as president; she has also 2-9 assumed leadership positions with Commerce United Way, the 2-10 Commerce Leadership Institute, Hunt County Family Services, 2-11 and the Rotary Club; and 2-12 WHEREAS, For over 30 years, her exceptional work has 2-13 given young Texans the education necessary to become informed, 2-14 thoughtful, and well-rounded adults who will make positive 2-15 contributions to society; all Texans have benefitted from her 2-16 commitment to excellence in her profession, and for her lifetime 2-17 of achievements in the field of education, Loretta Kibler is 2-18 truly worthy of legislative commendation; now, therefore, be it 2-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-20 77th Legislature, hereby express its deepest appreciation to 2-21 Loretta H.
