1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1146 1-3 WHEREAS, Ada M. Neal of Waco has had a profound impact on 1-4 the lives of the children of this state over the course of her 1-5 distinguished career as an educator; and 1-6 WHEREAS, May 31, 2001, denotes 27 years of service and 1-7 Mrs. Neal's official retirement from the Waco Independent School 1-8 District; and 1-9 WHEREAS, This occasion presents the Texas Senate with the 1-10 opportunity to reflect on the profound and enduring impact that 1-11 she has had on the lives of children in Texas; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Ada M. Neal has a long and distinguished history 1-13 of commitment and dedication to the students and the community 1-14 of Waco; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Paul Quinn College and Prairie View A&M University 1-16 provided her with the educational training to provide our youth 1-17 with the motivation to achieve their full potential; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Her dream to become an educator came true with the 1-19 love and support of her parents, A. D. and Gertrude Hawkins; her 1-20 husband, Johnny R. Neal, Sr.; and her son, Johnny R. Neal, II; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Throughout her career she has set an outstanding 1-22 example of leadership and public service in organizations such 2-1 as Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and her exemplary 2-2 record of achievement is an inspiration to all who know her; and 2-3 WHEREAS, During her impressive tenure as a teacher and 2-4 counselor she has made immeasurable contributions to the 2-5 prosperity and knowledge of the Waco Independent School District 2-6 administration and its student body; and 2-7 WHEREAS, Ada M. Neal is a leader in the community and a 2-8 public servant most worthy of legislative recognition; now, 2-9 therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-11 77th Legislature, hereby commend Ada M. Neal for her decisive 2-12 leadership and deep commitment to the future of Texas, our youth, 2-13 and extend to her a Texas "thank you" and warmest wishes for 2-14 continued success; and, be it further 2-15 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 2-16 prepared for Ada M.
