1-1 ****** NEED TWO-PAGE HEADER ****** 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1155 1-3 WHEREAS, Coralia Cuellar Schotz was born on March 25, 1901, 1-4 in San Salvador, El Salvador; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Cora married Henry Hans Schotz, a young German 1-6 mining engineer on April 23, 1923, in the mining town of Parral 1-7 in Northern Mexico; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Cora traveled extensively during her husband's long 1-9 career with the American Smelting and Refining Corporation; and 1-10 WHEREAS, During this time Cora and Henry became the parents 1-11 of eight children, Henry, Anna, Albert, Richard, Katherine, 1-12 William, Helen, and Charles; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Cora is also the proud grandmother of 1-14 Stephanie Katherine Schotz, Mark Freeman Schotz, and Carl Celis; 1-15 and 1-16 WHEREAS, Cora became a widow in 1944 as a result of the 1-17 accidental death of her beloved husband, Henry, in Mexico City, 1-18 Mexico; and 1-19 WHEREAS, In 1946, Cora decided then to move with her family 1-20 to Austin, Texas, where she has resided ever since; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Cora has been an inspiration to her family, friends, 1-22 and countless acquaintances throughout her long and full life; 2-1 and 2-2 WHEREAS, Cora has always maintained a strong spiritual faith 2-3 in God, which has been a source of strength to her in dealing with 2-4 life's adversities; and 2-5 WHEREAS, Cora continues to lead and enjoy a full active and 2-6 happy life and celebrated her 100th birthday on March 25, 2001, 2-7 surrounded by her many family members and friends; now, therefore, 2-8 be it 2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-10 77th Legislature, hereby extend warm birthday wishes with many 2-11 happy returns to Coralia Cuellar Schotz; and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-13 Mrs. Schotz as a memento of this auspicious day in her life. 2-14 Barrientos 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 President of the Senate 2-17 I hereby certify that the above 2-18 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-19 on May 23, 2001. 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Secretary of the Senate 2-22 ______________________________________ 2-23 Member, Texas Senate
