 1-2                         SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1175
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-4     extend a warm welcome to the members of Girl Scout Troop 1045 of
 1-5     Highland Park, who are touring the State Capitol May 25, 2001; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, These distinguished visitors are traveling to
 1-7     Austin to learn firsthand about our state government during
 1-8     the legislative session and visit the governor's mansion, the
 1-9     Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, and the Texas State History
1-10     Museum; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Working diligently to earn the money necessary
1-12     to fund this highly informative trip and also completing the
1-13     requirements for the Partnership in Government badge, troop members
1-14     Jacqui Bone, Christina Goudreau, Emily Hagens, Julianne James,
1-15     Leahe Knott, Alix MacNichol, Laura Rowsey, Katie Lee Riggs,
1-16     Rachel Sims, Kathleen Snell, and Katie Ward distinguished
1-17     themselves and Troop 1045; and
1-18           WHEREAS, As these outstanding girl scouts grow to adulthood,
1-19     it is important that they take an active part in the government
1-20     of their state for they are the citizens and leaders of
 2-1     tomorrow's society; and  
 2-2           WHEREAS, It is indeed a pleasure and a special privilege
 2-3     for the Texas Senate to welcome such notable and energetic fourth
 2-4     graders as those in Troop 1045 to the State Capitol; now,
 2-5     therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     77th Legislature, hereby recognize the members of Troop 1045
 2-8     and their adult leaders Fanchon Knott, Beth Riggs, Elizabeth Sims,
 2-9     Ginger Hagens, and Colleen Bone and extend an official welcome to
2-10     these industrious young ladies with all best wishes for a most
2-11     enjoyable trip; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-13     them as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
