By: Van de Putte SENATE RESOLUTION 1-1 BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 77th 1-2 Legislature, Regular Session, 2001, That Senate Rule 12.03 be 1-3 suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the 1-4 conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on House 1-5 Bill No. 3305, relating to changing the deadlines and authority for 1-6 ordering the election and filing for candidacy in political 1-7 subdivision elections, to consider and take action on the following 1-8 matter: 1-9 Senate Rule 12.03(1) is suspended to permit the committee to 1-10 change text that is not in disagreement by substituting "November" 1-11 for "September" so that the effective date of the bill reads as 1-12 follows: 1-13 This Act takes effect November 1, 2001. 1-14 Explanation: The changed text is necessary to allow 1-15 political subdivisions adequate time to modify their election 1-16 cycles to comply with the bill. 1-17 ______________________________________ 1-18 President of the Senate 1-19 I hereby certify that the above 1-20 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 1-21 on May 26, 2001, by the following 1-22 vote: Yeas 30, Nays 0, one present 1-23 not voting. 1-24 ______________________________________ 1-25 Secretary of the Senate
