 1-5                                Lanette Nolte
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-7     citizens of Port Aransas in mourning the loss of Lanette Nolte,
 1-8     who died December 19, 2000; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Lanette's love of Port Aransas was her hallmark;
1-10     during her life, she worked hard to improve Port Aransas and
1-11     to help others recognize its special charm; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Lanette served as manager of the Port Aransas
1-13     Chamber of Commerce for 20 years; in her position, she promoted
1-14     Port Aransas as a tourist location, arranging to have travel
1-15     writers visit the city and to have Port Aransas travel brochures
1-16     distributed throughout the region; and
1-17           WHEREAS, A woman of action, Lanette never shied from any
1-18     method to improve her island city; she frequently called her
1-19     state senators, representatives, and congressmen and urged them
1-20     to support legislation which would benefit Port Aransas; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Lanette not only loved her city, she loved its
1-22     inhabitants; her abundant kindness and warmth will be remembered
 2-1     by all who knew her; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, A person of integrity, strength, and generosity,
 2-3     Lanette gave unselfishly of her time to others; she leaves her
 2-4     family, friends, and fellow citizens many treasured memories and
 2-5     a legacy of commitment to her community; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-8     family of Lanette Nolte:  her husband, R. C. Nolte; her daughter,
 2-9     Charlette Hagedorn; and her two grandchildren; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-11     her family and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
2-12     do so in memory of Lanette Nolte.
