 1-5                           Julian Michael Gonzales
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-7     citizens of Corpus Christi in mourning the untimely loss of
 1-8     Julian "Juju" Michael Gonzales, who died March 7, 2001, at the
 1-9     age of 15; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Blessed with a friendly disposition and warm nature,
1-11     the popular eighth grade student at Elliott Grant Middle School will
1-12     be remembered fondly for his love of life, his ability to make his
1-13     friends smile, and the joy he brought to all who knew him; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Born January 4, 1986, to Catherine Gonzales and
1-15     Roland Gonzales, the outgoing and affectionate teenager loved loud
1-16     music and had a passion for football; wearing maroon jersey 75,
1-17     Julian led his team to the city championship in 2000; his absence
1-18     will be keenly felt; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Julian was well known for his exceptional energy,
1-20     his sense of humor, his enthusiasm for living each day to the
1-21     fullest, and his wholehearted interest in everything he did; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Though his life was tragically cut short, the
 2-1     memory of this fun-loving and gregarious young man will live on
 2-2     in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing the
 2-3     devoted son, brother, grandson, and friend; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 2-6     family of Julian Michael Gonzales:  his parents, Catherine Gonzales
 2-7     and Roland Gonzales; his brothers, Roland, Jr., Alex, Blake, and
 2-8     Timothy; his sisters, Victoria and Tristen; his maternal
 2-9     grandparents, Rene and Diana Soliz; his paternal grandparents,
2-10     Sagrario Gonzales and Manuel Gonzales; and his great-grandmothers,
2-11     Amita Soliz, Trine Gonzalez, and Brigida L. Gonzales; and, be it
2-12     further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-14     members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-15     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-16     in memory of Julian Michael Gonzales.
