 1-4                                     of
 1-5                             Thomas Noel Haywood
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family
 1-7     and friends of Thomas Noel Haywood in mourning his untimely death
 1-8     on May 27, 2001; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, A graduate of Rider High School in Wichita Falls, he
1-10     had worked for his father's consulting business and with various
1-11     campaign staffs since 1994; and
1-12           WHEREAS, A generous and giving young man, Thomas was a loving
1-13     father, son, and brother who brought joy into the lives of his
1-14     daughter, parents, and sisters; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Active in the life of his community, Thomas was a
1-16     member of the First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls
1-17     and a former Eagle Scout; and
1-18           WHEREAS, His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of
1-19     all who knew and cherished him, and his presence will be deeply
1-20     missed; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-22     77th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
1-23     family of Thomas Noel Haywood:  his daughter, Kelsey; his
 2-1     parents, Senator Tom Haywood and Pat Haywood; and his sisters,
 2-2     Jamie Ratliff, Alisa Green, and Denise Haywood; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-4     members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
 2-5     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
 2-6     do so in memory of Thomas Noel Haywood.
