Fiscal Analysis
The bill would reduce the number of board members of the Texas Department
of Economic Development from nine to five members resulting in reduced
cost associated with board member travel.
Methodology
The Department currently spends an estimated $38,931 per year related to
board member travel and other expenses. Reducing the number of board
members to five would result in a general revenue savings of $17,300 per
year.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
