The provision of the bill that is the subject of this analysis would
amend the Penal Code by enhancing the punishment for the offense of
promotion of prostitution from a Class A misdemeanor to a felony of the
third degree if the prostitute is a person younger than 18 years of age.
The bill would also create the offense of parental responsibility which
would be punishable as a felony of the third degree.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
