Bosse, Chair, House Committee on Civil Practices FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB233 by Hawley (Relating to the liability of volunteers at certain free health clinics.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would include in the definition of charitable organization a health clinic that provides services to its patients without collecting a fee for those services other than that provided by any insurance coverage that its patients may carry, without regard to whether the clinic is operated by a public or private entity or funded partially or wholly by public money. The bill would limit the liability of a volunteer for the charitable organization. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
