LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session April 27, 2001 TO: Honorable Teel Bivins, Chair, Senate Committee on Education FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB328 by Gallego (Relating to single-member trustee districts for certain school districts.), As Engrossed ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact This bill allows the board of trustees in certain school districts to order that trustees, or some portion of the trustees, of the district be elected from single-member trustee districts. School districts that choose this option could face some administrative costs to draw the district lines. The costs for the single member district elections could be slightly reduced, due to fewer ballots. Source Agencies: 701 Texas Education Agency LBB Staff: JK, CT, PF
