The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of
interference with an emergency telephone call, which would be punishable
as a Class A misdemeanor. If the actor has previously been convicted
under this section of the Penal Code the offense is punishable as a
state jail felony.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
