The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of storage or
transfer of an unsafe firearm.  The offense would be punishable as a
Class C misdemeanor.  The bill would also change the punishment for
certain violations of the offense of making a firearm accessible to a
child from a Class C misdemeanor to a Class B misdemeanor.
  
Local Government Impact
  
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
