Collection of the additional amount in medical services fees will not
create an additional cost to the state or impact state appropriations.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

The University of North Texas would be allowed to charge each student
registered at the university a medical services fee not to exceed $75
instead of $25 for each semester of the regular term or 12-week summer
session and not to exceed $37.50 instead of $12.50 for each six-week or
shorter term of the summer session. Since this fee is an auxiliary fee,
there would be no impact on general revenue.

Fees raised by this bill would be as follows:

Fiscal Year 2002 - $306,194
Fiscal Year 2003 - $368,045
Fiscal Year 2004 - $368,664
Fiscal Year 2005 - $369,288
Fiscal Year 2006 - $369,919
