It is assumed that the Department of Health would absorb any costs it may
incur in implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

The bill would require employees of food establishments to be immunized
against Hepatitis A, unless they qualify for exemptions listed in the
bill. If an employee is not immunized and does not qualify for an
exemption, the local government authority that issues food handler
permits would be required to revoke or deny renewal of a food handler
permit to that individual. Local government authorities would incur
administrative costs associated with reviewing immunization records and
revoking or denying renewal of permits as warranted. It is anticipated
that the additional administrative costs would be absorbed into the
local entities' budget.
