The bill would require a judge to complete training on ethnic, cultural,
and racial awareness in the judge's first four years of service and to
complete additional such training for each four years of service
thereafter. The bill would also require judges who are in office on
August 31, 2001, to take the training before the end of their term.
The bill would take effect August 31, 2001.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
