LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session February 21, 2001 TO: Honorable Patricia Gray, Chair, House Committee on Public Health FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB757 by Coleman (Relating to the establishment of a task force to eliminate health and health access disparities in Texas.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would establish a nine-member Health Disparities Task Force to assist the Department of Health (TDH) in eliminating health and health access disparities in Texas among multi-cultural, disadvantaged and regional population, including reorienting all existing programs towards eliminating these disparities. Under the provisions of the bill, the task force would be administratively attached to TDH. It is assumed TDH would absorb any administrative costs associated with the implementation of the bill. Reimbursement for travel and related expenses would have to be authorized in the General Appropriations Act. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
