The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of criminal
trespass at a hotel which would be punishable as a Class B misdemeanor,
unless the actor carries a deadly weapon, in which event the offense is
a Class A misdemeanor. The bill would also amend the Penal Code by
including failure to provide full compensation for occupying a hotel
room under the theft of service offense provision.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
