LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session May 3, 2001 TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1113 by Goolsby (Relating to legislative leave time accounts for police officers in certain municipalities.), As Engrossed ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact The bill would add a provision for legislative leave time accounts for police officers in a municipality with a population of one million or more that has not adopted Chapter 174, Local Government Code (the Fire and Police Employee Relations Act) and to which Section 143.1261, Local Government Code (Chapter 143 is Municipal Civil Service) does not apply. The bill would also set forth rules for the governance of legislative leave time. The Comptroller of Public Accounts and Legislative Budget Board staff contacted the cities of Dallas and San Antonio. Officials in both cities indicated there would be no or only minimal administrative costs incurred as a result of the provisions of the bill.
