LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session February 22, 2001 TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair, House Committee on Judicial Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1131 by Thompson (Relating to the probate and administration of a decedent's estate.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend the Probate Code in relation to the probate and administration of a decedent's estate by removing the requirement of having an applicant's social security number on the application to probate the will as a muniment of title. Further, the bill would provide that when a claim or a part thereof has been rejected by the representative, the claimant shall institute suit thereon in the court of original probate jurisdiction in which the estate is pending.
