LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 77th Regular Session February 8, 2001 TO: Honorable Juan Hinojosa, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1167 by Crabb (Relating to the form of examination of a child in a criminal or civil proceeding.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would amend Chapter 38, Code of Criminal Procedure ,and Chapter 18 of the Civil Practices and Remedies Code that in any criminal or civil proceeding in which a child younger than 13 years of age is a witness, the court shall require questions directed at the child to be be appropriate and shall limit the unnecessary repetition of questions directed at the child.
