Local Government Impact

The provisions of the bill would authorize a county to alter speed limits

on county roads and would set what the minimum speed could be.  Counties

that would choose to change the speed limits would incur the costs of

changing the speed limit signs.  According to the Texas Association of

Counties, the cost per sign would be approximately $260.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is

anticipated.
