extension of uniform group benefits for political
subdivisions to certain affiliated service

The bill would authorize a political subdivision to extend uniform group
benefits to employees of affiliated service contractors. The political
subdivision would not pay any part of the contributions for coverage and
would not make an affiliated service contractor or their employees an
employee of the political subdivision.
Local Government Impact
The Texas Association of Counties and the Texas Municipal League provided
input on the fiscal impact to local government.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
