IN RE: HB1293 by Garcia (Relating to closing certain repeat
low-performing schools.), As Introduced

Local Government Impact
There have been only nine campuses rated low performing for three of the
last five years. For school districts with such campuses, there may be
significant administrative costs related to the campus closure provision
of the bill, depending on the size of the district and number of
campuses affected. However, these costs could be mitigated by the
Commissioner of Education's power to grant permission for a school to
remain open.
