for causing injury to a pregnant woman.), As Introduced

The bill would amend the Penal Code by making the offense of assault
punishable as a felony of the third degree if a person intentionally,
knowingly, or recklessly causes bodily injury to a pregnant woman. The
bill would also amend the Penal Code by making the offense of aggravated
assault punishable as a felony of the second degree if a person causes
bodily injury causing a woman to suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth.
The offense of intoxication assault would also be punishable as a felony
of the second degree if the action results in bodily injury to another
who is a pregnant woman and causes her to suffer a miscarriage or
stillbirth.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
