Local Government Impact

The bill would require a fire department that is conducting a meeting or
hearing for an internal investigation of or to consider firing a fire
fighter, to provide the fire fighter with documents relating to the
hearing at least 48 hours prior to the meeting or hearing. The
department would also be required to allow the fire fighter to have
certain representatives present. Costs that would be incurred by the
department would be for copying documents and would be absorbed into
normal expenditures.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
