The bill would amend the Penal Code by making it illegal for felons
placed on deferred adjudication community supervision to possess a
firearm. Such individuals would not be able to possess a firearm after
the placement on deferred adjudication community supervision and before
the fifth anniversary of the date on which the proceedings are dismissed
and the person is discharged.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
