The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of theft of
motor fuel from a retail store.  The offense would be punishable as a
Class C misdemeanor with a driver's license suspension taking place on
subsequent offenses.  A first time suspension would be for 6 months
while subsequent suspensions would be for a period of one year.  A fee
for the restoration of a person's license would be $25, due at the
expiration of the suspension period.
  
Local Government Impact
  
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
