The bill would amend the Penal Code by defining behavior for which the
punishment for taking a weapon from a peace officer, parole officer, or
community supervision and corrections department officer would be
enhanced from a state jail felony to a felony of the third degree.
Under current law such an offense is punishable as a state jail felony.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
