for the offense of taking a weapon from a peace officer,
parole officer, or community supervision and corrections

The bill would amend the Penal Code by enhancing the punishment to felony
of the third degree for taking a weapon from a peace officer, parole
officer, or community supervision and corrections department officer.
Under current law such an offense is punishable as a state jail felony.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
