Smithee, Chair, House Committee on Insurance FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1610 by Averitt (Relating to data on mandated health benefits and mandated offers of coverage that must be collected and reported by health benefit plan issuers.), Committee Report 1st House, as amended ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill adds a new subchapter to the Insurance Code to require any issuer of a health benefit plan to collect and report cost and utilization data for each mandated health benefit. The Employees Retirement System estimates that it would require a computer programmer 24 hours to develop and 40 hours to print and test a report for each mandate.
