Carter, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1621 by Coleman (Relating to the representation of the transportation disadvantaged in mass transportation.), Committee Report 1st House, as amended ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would require at least one member of each transit authority board to be a representative of the transportation disadvantaged. Current board members would be allowed to serve out their terms and the bill would not prohibit those members from being reappointed if they meet appropriate qualifications. The bill would take effect immediately upon receipt of a favorable vote of two-thirds of both houses or on September 1, 2001.
