"Pete" Laney, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1659 by Ritter (relating to the duty of a county to notify the Texas Department of Criminal Justice regarding certain proceedings in cases of defendants or inmates returned to the county on a bench warrant.), As Passed 2nd House ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would require that the county notify the Texas Department of Criminal Justice if an offender is released on bail or if the charges on which the offender was convicted and for which the offender was transferred to TDCJ are dismissed after the offender is transfered to the county on bench warrant.
